Tsuneari - Olympic alumni

If you look in the 2005 Year 12 year book you will see that Tsuneari's plan after the HSC was "Uni, World Karate champion". He has gone very close on several occasions, claiming bronze at the Junior World Championships in Marseille in 2013, and finishing 7th at two World Championships. He is a four-time Oceania Champion.

Tsuneari is currently the highest ranked male in Oceania in his category - 75kg Kumite - and will be Australia's only Karate representative in Tokyo. Karate makes its debut at the Tokyo Olympics.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) made the decision to add Karate to the Tokyo Olumpics in 2016. This was when Tsuneari set a goal of being at the games. A goal he has now achieved.

Please join us in celebrating Tsuneari's achievements over the past many years and cheering him on in Tokyo (and beyond).
